Hi there!

I just wanted to say I did a session with Dave and he was really great. Once we were all warmed up (we were asked to shake our hips all about like Shakira, among other things :) ) we went over some cool moves like the swing, the high pull, and the clean (you can see some of those moves in Steve Maxwell's videos).

Not only is KB training fun and challenging (read...NOT boring) it also burns fat really fast (only three months to beach season...)

For those of you who are intimidated...don't be because you'll start with the basics and add onto those. I hope lots of people join!

I appreciate the opportunity to share.

If you eat Vitamin C from several different sources, along with the bacon, would this be sufficient? Supplements, citrus, cranberry/blueberry, etc.

Hey Magali,

Glad you liked it! It will be so cool to see your box jumps increase in height over time!

And yeah, balanced hip and glute strength and mobility is pretty critical to good jumping, along with good squatting and deadlifting.

Hi monsieur Shane

this is a great follow-up article. Now, I don't do box jumps as regularly as I once did since I moved to the strength sessions but I happened to do them on Monday during the bootcamp and I have to say they felt really amazing. Now that my glutes and my hips work better, thanks to all the strength work, I'm a lot better at getting my hips up. As for proper foot position and arm movement, I was just kind of instinctively getting those right.

I still have a bump on my shin bone...serves as a reminder to be cautious and keep the three tips in mind. Oh, and eat more before bootcamp so I can have more energy to jump higher!

I read your article regarding box jumps with interest.

I don't particularly enjoy box jumps, because I don't like taking risks (where injury is involved), and I understand that the box jump involves risk. That said, I also understand that there are great benefits to be derived from getting good at the box jump.

On the two occasions box jumps went bad for me, I was especially fatigued, shaky, and/or didn't have the right mindset that day. I stay conservative for many weeks following a crash. I'm slowly working my way back up, though!

Thanks for the tips.
