Hi Magalita,

I posted a video here:

http://your-strength-and-fat-loss-coach.com/2012/02/22/how-to-safely-increase-your-box-jumps-and-not-get-injured/

It shows you how to safely increase your box jumps without getting injured.

Let me know if this helps!

I read your article regarding box jumps with interest.

I don't particularly enjoy box jumps, because I don't like taking risks (where injury is involved), and I understand that the box jump involves risk. That said, I also understand that there are great benefits to be derived from getting good at the box jump.

On the two occasions box jumps went bad for me, I was especially fatigued, shaky, and/or didn't have the right mindset that day. I stay conservative for many weeks following a crash. I'm slowly working my way back up, though!

Thanks for the tips.

Hé Shane,

I read your rant with interest and I empathize. The way I see it, if that lady wants it that bad, she can come to the orientation this Saturday and then she has 17, no 18, more opportunities to come to bootcamp until her Groupon expires. The Groupon she bought in August, for God's sake.

Where's the issue, again? Oh, right, she can't make the orientation for another two weeks.

Heck, I don't want to train alongside people who have the nerve to call you up and waste your time like that. My Groupon for Spartan Sprint clearly states must register by 1/31/12. What's hard to understand?

What's wrong with these people? They need to go and watch some Ultimate Warrior inspiration.

Hey there!

I have another suggestion for how to get what you want in 2012! Join PhysXtreme today, show up for the sessions, and do everything Shane tells you to do.

I like the other suggestion too...Kaizen...continuous improvement. It was actually a word I had never heard before. So I learned something new. Thanks for that.

I could write more but we'll keep it at that!

"blush"
well, thank you for those very kind compliments on my push ups and work ethic (uh, or obsessive nature?).
The other day, I managed 15 with elevated feet. If I push it I can do 20 on a flat surface, if my muscles are fresh.
Next...weight vest, progressions to one-arm, medicine ball push ups? Je sais pas!

Hey there
first thing I noticed were hugely oversized breasts that are eventually going to cause back problems. Good luck deadlifting or attempting to foam roll your pecs with those. I wonder if carrying all that extra weight around burns more calories? Oh, and then I saw the Christmas tree! Right.

I really like the fat loss tip. Basically, don't go to a holiday party on an empty stomach (or any gathering where there will be lots of tempting yummy food and drinks). I plan on slipping an apple (or any other fibrous produce) in my purse...and indulging as well, in small quantities. Small plates, alternating alcoholic beverages with non-calorie beverages, etc. etc. I also carry gum and a tooth brush. Once I've brushed my teeth I find it easier to stop. Oh, and I almost forgot...if I don't really really really want it...I don't eat it!

Thanks for letting me share.
